Alan Beynon graduated from Edinburgh University in 1988. He immediately joined St David’s. He left in 1990 to work in Scotland with NMR where he specialised in bull fertility on their bull studs. He rejoined the practice and became a partner in 1991. He specialises in Cattle and Poultry medicine. As well as developing the preventative approach of the Farm Practice he also specialises in Game Bird Medicine.

 

Richard Turner qualified from Queens College, Cambridge in 1983, and immediately joined St David’s. In 1988 he became a partner. His interests are Pig and Poultry medicine. He runs the Pig side of the Farm Practice. Richard is heavily involved in the Poultry Practice and, as well as his clinical work, also acts as a consultant to several large poultry organisations.

 

Tony O’Loughlin qualified from Liverpool University in 1990. After working in mixed practice in Shropshire, he joined St David’s in 1994. He then took an 18 month sabbatical to work in dairy practice in New Zealand and returned to St David’s in 1998. In 2003 Tony became a Director of the St David’s Farm Practice. Tony’s special interests are fertility, nutrition and organic systems. Tony is also involved in the Pig side looking after a local breeding company.

 

 

Emily Simcock qualified from Bristol in 2002. She spent the first three years after graduation doing mainly farm work in the West Country before heading out to NZ to work in dairy practice and travel. Since returning Emily has worked as a locum in several practices around the country before settling here with St Davids in November to concentrate on her career as a farm vet. She has a particular interest in cattle lameness.

Jeremy Hamilton qualified from Liverpool in 2004.  He immediately returned to his native Ireland and spent 3 years in mixed practice. He has moved to the South Hams with his partner. He has joined St David’s to pursue his interest in cattle medicine – he is especially interested in beef production and disease prevention.

 

Peers Davies

Peers Davies grew up on a beef and sheep farm in North Wales and ran his own flock of commercial Texel cross ewes before graduating from Cambridge in 2008. He is particularly interested in sheep medicine and will be aiming to make flock health planning an important service offered by the practice. His other interests  include cattle production &  lameness.

 


Jayne Evans is the Manager for the Farm Division, and with her many previous years experience within the dispensary she oversees that all farm drug requests are met with a prompt and efficient service to the clients. John Stephens  has recently joined St Davids having completed two years of an undergraduate Physics degree at Imperial College, London. He is responsible for the Farm drugs in the dispensary, he can be contacted directly on 01392 872886 to place an order. He then ensures the correct processing and dispatch of the order to the farm or client, he is also responsible for all stock rotation, stock taking and general maintenance of farm drugs. John works closely with Jayne in the dispensary to ensure a smooth and efficient service to the farm client.
